North Las Vegas Scares Up Some Halloween Fun

Spooky Photo Frame
North Las Vegas Library offers children’s class in making photo frames for their picture-perfect Halloween moments at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the library, 2300 Civic Center Drive.  This class is open to children of all age, limited to the first 40 to attend.  For more information, call (702) 633-1070.
 
Silver Mesa Halloween Carnival
The Silver Mesa Recreation Center’s Halloween Carnival will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 4025 Allen Lane.  The event, for children ages 2 to 11, features midway games with prizes, jump houses and face painting.  Kids planning to compete in the costume contest must register at Silver Mesa by Oct. 23 during business hours. Tickets for carnival games are 25 cents each or 5 for $1. Trick or Treat on Bruce Street
Neighborhood Recreation Center will hold its Halloween festival from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1638 N. Bruce St.  This event will include carnival games, a jump house, contests, prizes and trick-or-treating.  The Haunted Health Fair and Cosmic Laser Tag are back by popular demand.  The event also features a parade of costumed attendees and a costume contest. All ages are welcome.
Tickets for the carnival games are 25 cents each or 5 tickets for $1.  For more information, call the Neighborhood Recreation Center at (702) 633-1600.
 
The Spider and the Fly
The North Las Vegas Library presents a reading of Mary Howitt's book, "The Spider and the Fly," at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the library, 2300 Civic Center Drive.  The reading will be followed by a free arts and crafts session, where children of all ages can learn to makes spiders and webs.  For more information, call the library at (702) 633-1070.
 
Spooktacular Halloween Crafts
Alexander Library invites children of all ages to make a variety of spooky crafts and decorations for Halloween at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the library, 1755 W. Alexander Road.  For more information, call (702) 633-2880.
 
Safe Halloween
The North Las Vegas Police Department will hold its annual Safe Halloween Event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, in the Home Depot parking lot, 1275 W. Craig Road, near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard.  The event aims to be a one-stop shop of live entertainment, free candy and trick-or-treating.  For more information, call (702) 633-2326.
