The U.S. Census Bureau today released its annual list of America’s fastest growing large cities – those with populations of 100,000 or more – with the City of North Las Vegas 19th in the ranking. North Las Vegas was the only city in Nevada to make the list.
This is the first time that North Las Vegas was not among the top five fastest growing large cities in America, since becoming eligible for the list in 2000.
“Although we’re disappointed we are not among the top 10 fastest growing cities in the country, we are proud that during these difficult economic times citizens continue to find North Las Vegas an attractive community to call home,” City Manager Gregory E. Rose said.
In prior years, the City ranked as follows:
2008: 4
2007: 1
2006: 2
2005: 3
2004: 2
2003: 2
2001: 5
2000: 4
