On Wednesday, July 1 at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at North Las Vegas City Hall, the City will host a swearing-in ceremony for the four officials elected during this years municipal election.
Mayor Shari L. Buck, Councilman Robert L. Eliason, Municipal Judge Sean Hoeffgen, and Councilwoman Anita G. Wood will be sworn into office. Hoeffgen will serve a six year term. All others will serve a four year term.
Buck will be sworn in to her first term as Mayor, the first female Mayor elected to office in North Las Vegas. Buck served as City Councilwoman, Ward 4 since 1999.
Eliason will be sworn into his third term as Councilman, Ward 1. Eliason has served on the City Council since 2001.
Hoeffgen will be sworn into his second term as Municipal Judge. He was first elected in 2005.
Wood will be sworn into her first term as Councilwoman, Ward 3. Wood previously served as a City Planning Commissioner.
The ceremony will feature the elected officials taking their oath of office followed by a reception in their honor.
North Las Vegas municipal elections are held every two years. The primary election is held in April and the general election is held in June. Eliason won in the primary election, the others won in the general election.
