City Presents Naming Ceremony of Craig Ranch Regional Park

Craig Ranch Regional Park

The Mayor and City Council will present a naming ceremony for Craig Ranch Regional Park at the Main Stage of BalloonaPalooza at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the park, 628 W. Craig Road.

The City Council earlier this year sought suggestions from the public to name the park, formerly Craig Ranch Golf Course.  The City Council approved the name Craig Ranch Regional Park during its regular meeting on July 2.

Craig Ranch Regional Park contains 135 acres near the intersection of Craig Road just east of Martin Luther King Boulevard.  The City recently adopted a master plan for the park.  The first phase of the master plan will include a 2.5-acre playground, a dog park, picnic shelters and a new entrance.  Work on the first phase is expected to begin in spring 2009. Future features will be phased in as funding becomes available.

Renderings of the park plan are available on the City's web site at www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com and at www.craigranch.org.
